SUPPORTING ALBINO POPULATION IN GISENYI (WESTERN PROVINCE)

Within the whole province, albinos are the minority population. They face a lot of discrimination from the rest of society, because people don’t understand why they look so different. Their looks are attributed to superstitious beliefs; due to this, they are called ghosts, amongst other things, and labeled as outcasts. As a result of this discrimination, albinos are unable to get jobs or afford necessities- like sunscreen. Our organization helps provide them with essentials like sunscreen so that they can protect their sensitive skin from the sun, as well as livestock.
